Medical hibiscus(Althaea officinalis) is also known as ibiscus. It is a perennial herb with a strong, branched and fleshy root that is rich in mucilage. The most effective and most commonly used part of the plant is the root.

Dry hibiscus roots are suitable for:

• preparation of teas and drinks;
• cosmetic use as an additive (in ointments, moisturizers).

Use

Drink preparation instructions: Pour 1 teaspoon of dry roots over a cup of boiling water (150 ml). Let stand covered for 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, stir and then strain. Drink a cup of freshly prepared tea up to three times a day.
