Boswellia(Boswellia Serrata), also called incense, is a resinous shrub that grows mainly in arid regions of India, North America, and the Middle East. Its bark yields a fragrant resin from which incense and extract are made.

Although it may not be as well known here, in India it has always been valued as a traditional herb and is also used as an incense for religious purposes. In Ayurveda it is better known as shallaki, elsewhere in the world also as frankincense, frankincense, olibanum...
