Indian nettle or Coleus forskohlii is a plant you will recognize by its green and purple hairy leaves. As the name suggests, it originates from India, but is now cultivated worldwide as a crop plant.

The use of Indian nettle dates far back to Ayurveda, where it was often used for a variety of purposes. The plant became important because it contains the compound forskolin, which is found in the roots of the plant. Zein Pharma capsules contain a patented extract called ForsLean®, which was one of the first patented natural forskolin extracts used in the early 1990s.
