Green tea

High quality green tea extract with added vitamin C.

Green tea is extracted from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). It is an evergreen tree that grows up to 16 metres in height, but is pruned and grown as a low tea bush for tea production. China is thought to be the ancestral home of green tea, but various species are also found in other countries.

The leaves for all true teas (e.g. black, white, Pu Erh...) are extracted from the tea tree and the processing method depends on what kind of tea is to be produced. In the case of green tea in Sanct Bernhard capsules, the leaves are gently steamed and dried and not fermented.

Green tea is most beneficial for its high content of catechins, which are among the polyphenols, and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Each capsule contains 400 mg of green tea extract with a minimum of 380 mg of polyphenols and 99 mg of EGCG.

Vitamin C has a role in protecting cells from oxidative stress (it's an antioxidant).

The product is a dietary supplement.

Use

Recommended Daily Dose: 1 capsule (whole) 1-2 times a day with plenty of liquid.
