HydroClean delivers Ringer's solution to the wound for up to three days. During this time there is interactive and continuous flushing of the wound as the wound dressing also absorbs exudate from the wound. The SAP used in HydroClean inactivates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) that impair wound healing. As a result, stagnant healing of chronic wounds can be reactivated.

HydroClean is suitable for wet/wet wound care, especially for wounds with impaired healing tendencies. The product is particularly suitable for the treatment of chronic and poorly healing wounds in the cleansing and granulation stage. HydroClean can also be used to treat infected wounds. HydroClean can further be used to reactivate stagnant healing processes if they are caused by excessive MMP activity.
