Laurel essential oil - a Roman symbol of victory, power and authority that is still relevant today.

Laurel (Laurus Nobilis) is an aromatic evergreen tree or larger shrub that can reach 10 to 18 metres in height and is widespread throughout the Mediterranean. Its leaves are oval and leathery and its flowers are greenish yellow - these are the ones used as a spice to brighten dishes with their slightly bitter, balsamic scent.

Throughout history, laurel has been associated with prestige, victory, authority and power. We've all heard of the laurel wreath that the Romans strung for their victorious generals and athletes - hence the expression "to win the laurel."
