Marian fern (Silybum marianum) is a plant of the astro family with beautiful, purple-colored flowers. It has characteristic green leaves with white spots and stripes. It is native to southern Europe and Asia, from where it has spread throughout the world.

The Latin name marianum refers to the legend of the Virgin Mary, whose milk dripped onto the leaves while nursing, supposedly giving them their characteristic pattern.

Pestrel contains various substances, which are extremely important to the human body.

Bioherba's Tincture is made from thistle soaked in glycerin, which gives it a sweet taste. Glycerin is a colourless, odourless liquid, slightly thicker than water.

A daily dose of the tincture is equivalent to 900 mg of milk thistle.
