Peppermint tea

Mint tea - ideal after a meal!

Peppermint tea is made from the leaves of peppermint (Mentha × piperita), a plant in the mint family that is most likely a cross between mint and water mint. It is said to be native to Asia and is an ancient plant, having been found in ancient Egyptian tombs.

Peppermint can grow up to 90 cm tall, but it does not occur in nature as it can only grow by planting. It thrives best in moist and nutritious soil and in partial shade, so it can also be grown in the home garden or on a balcony.

Peppermint tea is made from peppermint leaves, which are harvested in July and August just before flowering.

Use

Instructions for use: Pour 0.25 l of hot water (90 °C) over the tea bag and leave for 5-10 minutes. Always use a new tea bag to make good quality tea.

Drinking tea is especially recommended after meals. 2-3 cups of tea per day are recommended.
