Linden tea

The linden tree is the symbol of Slovenia and linden tea is a popular drink.

Lime blossoms are very popular in Slovenia in various tea blends, for their pleasant aroma and taste. Tea made only from lime blossoms is also appreciated, especially in winter when we are more sensitive to external factors.

In Latin, the plant is called tilia vulgaris.

Lime blossom tea is great with a spoonful of honey.

With herbal teas, proper preparation and dosage is especially important. The golden rule is to always prepare them fresh and follow the directions that apply to the specific plant.

There are three ways to prepare herb tea. 1. Dried plants are poured over boiling water at 90 degrees Celsius and allowed to stand for 5-15 minutes, after which the tea is strained. 2. They are covered with water at room temperature and allowed to stand overnight, then strained. 3. The roots, bark, or seeds are usually made into a variety. The herbs are brought to a boil in cold water, then simmered for 10-20 minutes and strained.

If you cannot drink the tea without the ingredients, add honey or lemon, but only when it has cooled enough to be lukewarm - only then will the temperature not destroy the beneficial substances in the honey or lemon.

Use

How to use: 1 tablespoon pour 250 ml of hot water over the honey, let stand covered for 15 minutes, then strain.

Tip: People with heart disease should use it with caution.
