Himalayan salt - the purest hand-mined salt on Earth

Himalayan Salt was formed over 250 million years ago by the ocean drying up, leaving only salt. Over millions of years, sea salt has been transformed by various factors into the pure crystals that today are hand-mined in mines in Pakistan at the foot of the Himalayas. Once mined, the crystals are hand-crushed, washed and then dried, preserving their natural purity. Machines and other mechanization are never used in the mining of Himalayan salt.

Himalayan salt can be recognised by its characteristic soft pink colour and is also called "white gold", as it was once used as currency.
