Organic Indian plantain or psyllium - a great way to get fibre!

Indian Sorrel or psyllium(Plantago Ovata) is native to northern India and Iran, where it is mainly grown for its seeds. These (especially their skins) contain lots of fibre and can be eaten on their own (e.g. soaked in water), whole or ground. The seed coat swells on contact with water to form a gelatine-like substance.

It is because of its fibre content that Indian plantain seeds are popular with people who want to naturally support their digestion, as they contribute to gut passage and gut activity, and thus digestion.
