Bergamot essential oil - a citrus fruit that gets its name from the Italian city of Bergamo!

Bergamot grows on the lemon tree (Citrus Bergamia), which is very demanding and sensitive as it needs a special climate and soil. It is native to Italy, named after the Italian city of Bergamo, but can also be found in Spain. This yellow citrus fruit looks like a small orange and is particularly popular for its freshness.

Essential oils are volatile fragrant essences that plants store in their petals, fruits, bark and roots - bergamot essential oil is thus obtained by pressing its peels. It is also used as one of the ingredients in Earl Grey tea - giving it a special aroma.
