Bakopa or Bacopa monnieri is a creeping plant that is recognized by its fleshy leaves and small white-blue flowers. It is native to swampy areas of Asia, but is often found in the United States, where it usually grows near ponds.

A daily dose (2 capsules) contains 300 mg of bakopa plant extract.

In Ayurvedic tradition, bakopa is sometimes referred to as "brain food". They have been using it for more than 3000 years, as they are aware of its properties, which they have been using with benefit for years.

Mostly only the ground parts of the plant are used, but sometimes the root is also used.
