Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) is a perennial Mediterranean plant or shrub in the aster family. It was known and used by the Romans, but today it is becoming increasingly popular due to its many beneficial properties, such as:

• supports digestion,
• contributes to the normal functioning of the intestinal tract,

• maintains normal function of the liver,
